What we collect

boring-game.com (this site) is run by Boring Game. It lists our games and links to them. The only data it collects is anonymous usage statistics, so we can tell which games people open, which pages are read and whether anything is broken.

We use Google Analytics for Firebase for this. It records events such as a page view, a click on a game, or a tap on the share button, together with technical details the browser sends anyway: a rough location (country or city, from your IP address, which Google discards), device type, screen size, browser and language. It does not record your name, email, precise location or anything you type. IP addresses are not stored. We do not use these statistics for advertising, and we never sell or share them with anyone other than Google, which processes them on our behalf.

Analytics uses a first-party cookie or browser storage to tell one visit from another. In the European Union, EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, it is switched off until you opt in.

Your choice

You can turn analytics off for this site at any time. The choice is stored in your browser and applies to every future visit from this browser.

You can also block analytics for every site with a browser extension such as the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or by blocking third-party scripts in your browser settings.

The games

Each game is a separate site with its own policy, because they collect different things. What you do inside a game is covered by that game's policy, not this one.

• Beat the LetterRuns at beat-the-letter.com. Has optional accounts and a Spotify connection. See its privacy policy.
• Meowsweeper and the micro gamesRun at micro.boring-game.com. No accounts; anonymous statistics only. See their privacy policy.

Stored on your device

Apart from the analytics setting above, this site stores nothing in your browser. There are no login cookies and no tracking pixels. Clearing your browser's site data for boring-game.com removes everything.

Other services

• Firebase Hosting (Google) serves the site. Like any web server it sees your IP address and the pages you request, and keeps short-lived server logs for security and reliability.
• Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver the fonts and animation scripts. Your browser requests those files directly from them, so they see your IP address and browser type, and nothing else.
• Share buttons open your device's share sheet, or a link to WhatsApp, Telegram, X, Facebook or your email app. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose an app and confirm inside it.

Children

Our games are made for everyone, and this site doesn't ask for your age or anything else about you. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think a child has sent us something they shouldn't have, email us and we'll delete it, no lecture.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, or Israel's Privacy Protection Law), you can ask to access or delete data about you, or object to its use. Because the analytics data is pseudonymous, the simplest way to stop it is the button above. For anything else, email us at info@boring-game.com.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we'll update this page and the date at the top. We won't quietly start collecting anything new. That would be a very un-boring thing to do.
